Hi, there! I’m Katie Q. and I ‘m a video journalist and a food enthusiast. I expose my audience to the experiences in life that bring me joy, in an effort to inspire their happiness.

I post a new video each week on my YouTube & Facebook channels, QKatie, which I launched in 2014. I produce, shoot, edit & host the bulk of those videos.

I love traveling, getting myself into unforeseen adventures, making food, eating food, and sharing those passions. I believe there is a story to be told everywhere. I believe food connects us all.

Check out my cookbook ‘Avocados,’ published by Short Stack Editions! I went to culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris but I strongly believe that you don’t have to be a trained chef to be passionate about making mind-blowingly delicious food.

I am a frequent guest on NBC’s TODAY show and have also been on The Meredith Vieira Show and The Food Network’s Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay. It’s great fun to be on television but — what can I say! — I’m a digital gal at heart. I’m partnered with the fantastic digital-first company Tastemade and, via hosting travel and food series for them, I appear on their Snapchat Discover channel, Apple TV curation, and YouTube site.

You also may have seen my work on CNN.com, Food52, Serious Eats, Food&Wine.com and Great Big Story.

After graduating from college in Ohio, I moved to NYC as an NBC Page, then found my video groove by producing/shooting/editing videos for the TODAY show’s website. I interned at the James Beard award-winning food website, Serious Eats, and was video host for the video news company NowThis.

My slogan is #keepitquirky because I think life is more enjoyable if you don’t take yourself too seriously.

I’ve been a music video heroine (and lip-syncer) for Rob Thomas and I attended Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Paris. I play guitar and I love hiking.

“I want to work in revelations, not just spin silly tales for money. I want to fish as deep down as possible into my own subconscious, in the belief that once that far down everyone will understand because they are the same as me, that far down.” -Jack Kerouac
